What are manufacturers putting in food? Sugar…
So, yesterday, our team chef and recipe creator came into the office and said "I looked through what must have been fifty jars of jam yesterday and could only find two that didn't have glucose-fructose syrup in them!"
Unfortunately, it's getting harder and harder to spot the nasties that are getting added to our food. Even with the best intentions you could be adding tablespoons of sugar to an otherwise healthy meal…
So we thought we would post a few names to look out for on your food labels. If any of these are on the ingredients list of a food you buy… think twice… if they are in the top 3 ingredients… just don't buy it… unless of course you intend to consume it immediately after exercise. That's a different story.
Remember, ingredients lists are in order of the amount that the food contains.. So something that says "Strawberries, Sugar, Cane sugar…" could actually have more added sugar than it has strawberries as they've split the 'dose' into two different names… SNEAKY!
If you have any to add to the list, post them below in the comments.
