Last year I had a major upper body skeletal alteration operation. I don’t want to be too graphic but the surgery involved changing the bone structure of my rib cage and cutting my right chest muscle and my abdominal muscles. As a result of the surgery I was left immobile and weak and was unable tolift anything heavier than 2 pints of milk. I had to rest completely and consequently lost all upper body strength. I started working with Martin just prior to the operation. He was able to advise me on a pre-operation training programme to strengthen key muscles that would be lost due to the bed rest and muscle wastage. Post operation Martin has been supportive and extremely helpful with my recovery. Martin advised me on specific foods to help build and strengthen muscle. The food programme also focused on sustaining energy as I was extremely weak and lacked lustre. Once I had become mobile, Martin created a gradual weight training programme that focused particularly on my lost upper body muscles. This programme has resulted in me being even stronger than I was before the operation. Due to being more than happy with the results of my recovery diet and training programme I decided to get Martin's help with helping me get in better shape and to help me get rid of my ‘fatty’ problem areas. I have always been an active person, I am tall and slim in stature, however I’ve always had unmovable ‘love handles’ and a bump stomach. Thanks to Martin I feel healthy, energetic and now, toned. I would happily recommend Martin for anyone who needs help, guidance and support with any nutrition and training issues. He deals with your concerns professionally by creating a plan that is unique to your problem and to your body and will help motivate you to achieve your goals. Katherine McFarthing - Cambridgeshire |
