NHS CPD Day

Mac-Nutrition were asked to provide a CPD (continued professional development) day in nutrition to health trainers working for the NHS in Lincolnshire. The day included sessions on myth busting, practical tools for weight loss, food diary analysis and lots of discussion and debate!  It was an interesting and thoroughly enjoyable day for all; with those who attended going away with lots to think about as well as lots of tips on how to get better results with their clients.

We got sent lots of feedback on what people had taken away from the day, here are two of our favourites:

One of the biggest considerations that need to be taken into consideration when structuring a diet is sustainability. Is the client likely to be able to sustain this way of eating for the rest of their lives? We need to take into account client preferences in relation to food choices, eating times, etc.

In reality we don’t get to spend a great deal of time with clients, therefore we need to focus on the advice that makes the biggest impact to their diet/weight loss, health and lifestyle,  rather than focusing on the smaller less significant areas. As we are overwhelmed with the amount of information out there, the main benefit of CPD day was that it was designed to help us to make these decisions.
