University Lecturer

Lecturing has always been a passion of mine. As I say elsewhere on the site, as a 22 year old I gave my first even lecture to a group of over 70 final year students, only 1 year my junior, and from there I was hooked. I did my City and Guilds level 1 teaching qualification and then went on to spend 2 years doing my Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (Pg DTLLS). What a mouthful! I'd love to do more lecturing but I've not found a job that doesn't require me to either a) do marking or b) engage in statistical analysis i.e. research! I can only hope!

I currently lecture at the University of Derby and have been since the 2010/11 academic year. I am lecturing in Principles of Nutrition as well as supervising final year research projects.

I have guest lectured on the prestigious MSc Sport and Exercise Nutrition course at Loughborough University where I spoke on my experiences setting up as a self employed nutritionist and how I went about developing Mac-Nutrition.

I started my lecturing career at Loughborough College, lecturing on the Applied Sport and Exercise Science BSc, accredited by Loughborough University. I lectured a wide range of subjects from Biochemistry to Strength and Conditioning as well as Nutrition of course.
