Public Speaker
Public speaking is what I enjoy most; the bigger the audience the better. The main reason for me continuing to lecture undergraduates is because I'm guaranteed a crowd every week… Seriously though, I get a great deal of satisfaction from lecturing, teaching and motivating people about nutrition. As a 22 year old I gave my first even lecture to a group of over 70 final year students, only 1 year my junior, and from there I was hooked. Positive feedback about my humourous teaching style, enthusiasm for the subject that motivated attendees and engaging presentation style has been a theme that has encouraged me to where I am today.
Those of you who attended the first ever Mac-Nutrition Conference saw the culmination of all of this where I got to talk constantly for an entire day about what I love the most. Thank you to those of you who gave feedback, it is much appreciated. Some of these can be seen below. A comment from one of my colleagues who attended was a real eye opener:
"I never realised you were such a good speaker or in fact funny! I always thought you were just a guy who read too many journals!"
