Strength and Conditioning
In 2006 Martin completed the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s (NSCA) programme to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). This academic knowledge alongside Martin’s personal love of training allowed him to gain further insight into the interactions between training, nutrition and performance.
Martin has devised performance enhancing strength and conditioning programmes for a number of high level athletes and sports people including track cyclists, triathletes, American football players, rugby players and golfers, to name but a few.
Large organisations have also employed Martin’s services in this area. Leicestershire Police Force requested training plans that were to form the standard information given to new recruits, thus allowing them to pass their compulsory fitness tests. After the huge success of these programmes, Martin was asked to supply advanced training programmes for more advanced officers in specialist units such as fire arms and the TSG.
Exercise for Fat Loss
Martin’s main strength lies in designing exercise programmes that maximise fat loss and muscle maintenance. Martin has years of real world experience in this area from personal endeavours as well as advising hundreds of individuals, both male and female of all ages!
There are so many myths surrounding both the training and diet that should accompany a fat loss programme. These myths serve to hinder gains either in the short or long term. Some ‘methods’ purported to be effective for fat loss simply give quick, short lived gains. Martin’s methods are tried and tested as well as being based on cold hard science.
Another issue which Martin’s helps to solve is the loss of weight that then relates to ‘looking good’; all too often people lose weight but look worse than they did before. With the right exercise programme for you, accompanying your diet, this will not happen.
